I'll be anxiously waiting!! Hopefully this 'upgrade' will not need alot of re-work and fixes.
Tossing $$$ at my EK-4 has now become habbit.

personally im glad to see they have made a bunch of changes to the kit, but what are they doing about all of us stuck with the first run of half a$$
aborted piles of garbage???
as for the kit with the 90 what all is included with it? just the enigne? or any other special parts. if its just an engine its seems like a awful
waste of money since my 70 is blowing out diffs, what will the 90 bring blown diffs and bent chasis and dog bones?
to ace i say ill spend my money on ofna products from now on, ttr is the single worst representation of a business ive yet to run across.

pro 90
So let me get this straight, we all spent so much money on hop ups because of aces screw ups. Now we are supposed buy a new engine to make ace some
more money! I dont know about you guys but I am stickin with my couple
of thousand dollar investment. Thank g d for autohaus. Ace can take that conversion kit and stick it up there ass! I am sorry but it pisses me off
that they are trying to entice us with something new.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that when the truck came out of the box, some bolts were loose and grub screws not set properly....as in they
were not set on the flat section of the shaft.
I found the grub screw torqued on the wrong part of the shaft in several locations. Loose bolts, nuts, screws....argggh.
I guess this proves that they REALLY don't care. Poor quality control and customer service.
I called Ace about the diff (gone now). I asked if this diff was a known issue....he stated that it happens to a few. He said there is a fix with
longer screws. He just asked me to fax him a receipt for the truck and he would take care of it from there. I faxed it to him this moning.
I will post on the future happenings.

I also must add that John works at TTR corprate HQ. He is not affiliated with Ace, and I edited the post for that correction. Now Ace is not TTR, but
acts as a stand in/distributor for TTR here in the US. It sounds like TTR is doing what they need to do, it just seems to fall short on Ace Hobby end.
Im looking into what fixes will be offered to previous owners of EK4's as a warranty issue.

blame who ever you want, but its quite obvious. weve all spent alot of our hard earned dollars on this truck, not counting the endless pile of money
invested in modifications, just to fix a brand new truck. now after a year of reading the forums and seeing what we are complaining about they make a
bunch of changes to the truck for the next batch of suckers. i refuse to be one of those suckers a second time around.
personally i will never buy another gd thing from them that i dont have to. as for new gas vehicles, ill stick with ofna, ive had great luck with my
blazer, its 3yrs old and had had 10 times the abuse my ek4 has and all ive broke was the ft bumper and the rear axleshafts

The director of Marketing at Ace saw this thread and emailed me some corrections or maybe i should say differences for No. America. I'm not positive
which it is.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mid October, the EK4 S2 will be shipped as a V2 version. This will include the web reinforced differential with through shoulder bolts, a new piston,
ring, head and heat sink with no price change.
The previous differential can be reinforced by drilling through the case holes and installing the new shoulder bolts available from ACE Customer
Service or your dealer. This will keep the cases from flexing causing the ring & pinion to mis align and strip.
Additionally, three new pre-painted F-350 bodies are available in blue 6216-A2, purple 6216-A1, and red 6216-A3.
A new part number will be generated for the exhaust header gasket only. The gasket was previously shipped with a new header pipe.
The EK4 90 powered unlimited debuted at the Chicago RCHTA/IMHA show. This vehicle will not be available until after January 1. The factory is making
every attempt to deliver for Christmas, however, no release will be forthcoming until all testing of the 90 engine is complete. The Unlimited is
shipped with all of the anodized parts in the photos in kit form with the engine and a clear body. The actual price has not yet been released.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please don't shoot the messenger.
Jack
P.S. Unlimited in KIT form with a clear body. Not RTR or even ARTR.

I will tell you that diff fix with the through bolts is junk. If you are not using the new msj case, I suggest you do. I bought the rear case only
(I have never had problems with the front) my truck rocks now. I am using stock gears with no shims and it lines up perfect. With all the mods I
have made, I think I can really enjoy the truck now with the exception of normal maintainance. Spending money for the 90 I think will just open up a
whole new set of problems. How much faster could it really be?

EK4 v2
Here are the pic's from TTR's catalogue. I started a new thread but this one is pinned so i will add it here. I hope TTR will help the existing EK4
owners with some of these parts that are stock on the new EK4 v2.

Do they think adding that little brace to the front part of the cases and making the brace bigger on the rear is going to fix the diff problems

Wow, we are all suckers I guess. Look at the new updated cylinder heads and the new cases. Hmmmmmm those "new" cases look very familiar.
I think those are the cases that ACE sent me with the through bolts. But I never ran it with TTR gears. I will have to double check to confirm.
Interesting news guys.

Hey! look at TTR's new cases! WOW!...
...
...
Wait a minute-.... they've already sent me those after my diffs went....and....they......didn't....help....
I gotta give TTR credit for releacing the new truck with the Pro .90 and Egral parts, but WTF? How about fixing the ones that were already sold?
Hello? McFly?
Jeez, how about some Egral Diff Cases instead of Stiffning rods and knuckles. Hmm?

I dunno.. call me a sucker but that EK4 Unlimited looks like a kick ass truck to me! That TTR 90 looks really sweet! Might have to get me one since
I still dont have an EK4.. If I have to buy the MSJ cases then so be it I wouldnt wanna have plastic dif cases anyway.. I can also get Hyper7 diffs
for it and everything with all that covered it doesnt look like a bad truck to me!
