SORRY PEEPS. ITS ADIOUS FROM ME. IVE HAD ENOUGH.

Hi. Im a new EK4 owner. I have several EK4's but most of them are junk. I have managed to build one realy good one out of them all, but there are still a couple of parts I need, which I simply cannot get hold of anymore. Nobody even replies to my messages on this site anymore:cry:,(as far as i can see, like the EK4, this site is as good as finished). There is nowhere that makes the M.S.J style parts anymore. Trying to live the EK4 dream is no longer a possibility and I never even got to drive one. My final desperate plea is IF ANYONE CAN SELL ME AN MSJ STARTER, SOME DIFF SHIMS, AND AN MSJ COOLING HEAD, I WILL PAY £160 FOR THE LOT. OR I WILL PAY £90 FOR AN MSJ STARTER, £70 FOR AN MSJ COOLING HEAD AND £10 FOR SOME DIFF SHIMS. I WILL GIVE IT TWO MORE WEEKS. IF NOBODY CAN HELP OUT, I WILL JUST SCRAP MY EK4'S:cry: AND GET A SAVAGE XL5.9. UNUSABLE EK4'S ARE JUST MAKING ME TOO DEPRESSED, :cry:ITS NOT WORTH BEING THIS UNHAPPY OVER A TRUCK. TIME TO MOVE ON TO GREENER PASTURES AND AT LEAST I CAN SAY IVE TRIED. CHEERS. Im one truly gutted EK4 guy :bg:

I know you don't want to go this route, but there is another Ek on Ebay with all of the MSJ fixings : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260617139441&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI#ht_500wt_1154

As far a the shims go you may be able to find those at a hardware or auto parts store.

Don't give up. It takes a while to find parts for anything "vintage"

Nice one, thanks. I think i may have tracked down some other parts aswell from someone on here, so things are hopefully looking up. Thanks for the help.

I would probably go down that route because its got some well nice bits on it, MSJ starter & head, integy shocks etc. But im in the U.K, and this ebayer will only ship to U.S.A. Thanks anyway. Like i said, i do have one other possible lifeline. I just hope he comes through for me. I realy want to know what these trucks are like to drive because ive heard so much about them, but never actually driven one myself. I never realised how stressful it would be trying to get hold of all the parts to build an EK4. It mustve aged me by 10 years already. Ive spent well over £500, just in the last few weeks and i do realy feel like throwing the towell in,(or throwing my dolly out of the pram Lol!), because its realy getting me down and making me realy skint into the bargain! But if this guy comes through for me with these parts, then maybe... Just maybe. :bh:

They are awsome trucks !! but you must locktite every single screw , grub screw or nut every where .

If you buy a used one , then you will need to strip it completely or it will fall apart and let you down , best to do it right from the start.

The diffs need shimming properally and all drive just allen grub screws loctited in.

You need to set her nice and rich and fat sounding and it will have awsome torque and power.

These are good trucks but build it right , read this forum right through , all the answers are here.

Sorry for no replies , only afew of us come back here now and again as we built up a good friendship .

Steven

I used to love making them parts , had a little production going with them .

Worst bit was the polishing though .
