www.acehobby.com        EK4-S2 Wheelie Bar.

Figure A.

This is just a few quick details on our Wheelie Bars. I am in no way making an attempt at posting step by step details with every measurement. I just wanted to throw some quick measurements up in hopes to give someone that wants to build their own somewhere to start.

Main Bar

The Aluminum stock is 1/4" by 1-1/2"

   The total length is 12"
   The bend is at 3-1/2"

I don't have anything to measure the degrees of the bend.

All I can tell you is - If you set the wheelie bar with the 3-1/2" end flat on a table, the other end will be 4-1/2" off of the table to the top of the wheelie bar.

   See Figure B.

Figure B.

Brace

The brace is made out of 1/4 by 1" Aluminum.

We made them so they attach to the rear shock tower by inserting a 6/32x1/2" screw through the existing hole into a hole drilled and tapped into the end of the brace.

The Brace  is 5-3/4" in length. It has a bend at 1-3/4 and also at 3" from the outer end. (the end that attaches to the wheelie bar).
You'll have to figure those angles out by trial and error.

Note: Don't drill the hole that attaches it to the wheelie bar until you are done and it will allow you some leniency on the bends.

Main Bar attachment

We attached the wheelie bars to the chassis by drilling and tapping for a 10-32 screw in two spots. We then drilled the chassis in the appropriate two spots. The screw in the front towards the engine is just a standard screw. The one in the rear is a tapered head screw that is countersunk into the chassis so as not to interfere with the re-installation of the rear axle. The wheelie bar wouldn't be of much use without a rear axle. Also, take note of the orange substance coming from the blue coupling. If yours has been run previously and doesn't do that, you may not be wheelieing for long. See figure c.
